Issues
Whether we’re Democrats or Republicans, Greens, Independents or other, we are first family, friends and members of a community. As such, it is incumbent upon us to ensure that certain values, systems and institutions, are in place to assure that all members of our community, be it the State of Maine or the USA, have the opportunity to participate in and prosper from the established social order.
The link below will introduce you to Franklin D. Roosevelt’s proposed Second Bill of Rights. It is part of our American Heritage and expresses values that are essential to what defines us as a people. Please visit the site, give thought to the ideas and values and feel free to contact me and share your thoughts.

Two ways you could lower your property taxes
•Homestead Exemption
The Homestead exemption gives every Maine homeowner a property tax break, by exempting $13,000 of the value of your home before your tax bill is calculated. To get this exemption, make sure to pick up an application at the Town Office or you can find one online at http://www.maine.gov/revenue/forms/property/apps/homesteadapp.pdf
•Property Tax & Rent Refunds – Circuit Breaker Program
The Circuit Breaker program provides cash refunds for Maine taxpayers who spend too much of their income on property taxes or rent. Many more people will qualify this year and the refund amounts have been increased. So make sure to apply. I can bring you an application, or you can find one online at http://www.me.gov/revenue/taxrelief/homepage.html.
